KYLE HOWARD

Kyle Howard Personal Trainer Health Coach

I decided to pursue a career in health and fitness in my mid-twenties. Throughout most of my life, I experienced significant shifts in weight loss and gain, with the most notable being an 80-pound change during three months of basic training for the army. This was followed by a dramatic rebound once life returned to normal. Each time I tried to lose weight, it became increasingly difficult. I would follow what I believed to be the right approach at the time—working out for multiple hours a day, running, and drastically cutting caloric intake. Despite my efforts, I saw short-term results that quickly disappeared, and my health suffered. Frustrated, I decided enough was enough and sought to understand what was really going on. I signed up for my first personal training certification program with the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

I started my career in the health and fitness industry as a personal trainer at a big-box gym, where I gained experience working with a diverse range of clients. I learned what worked, but more importantly, I learned what did not. Most of the information and techniques used worked for most people in the short term but failed in the long term. Additionally, there were clients for whom nothing seemed to make a difference (the long-term client failure rate for all personal trainers is alarmingly high). This was unacceptable to me, so I set out to find answers. I began working at Valpo Trufit, a private personal training-only gym, and found a mentor in Lucas Strain, who had been in the industry for nearly two decades. With his help and my addiction to education (now a NASM - CPT, BCS, CES, and PES/Functional Aging Institute - FAS/ DragonDoor- RKC Instructor/ and Integrated Health Practitioner Institute - Integrated Health Practitioner), I have developed a skill set to individualize programming and lifestyle changes that works for every client.

I say with conviction that no matter how many times you've tried and failed or how uncommon your circumstances are, WE CAN HELP YOU ACHIEVE A HEALTHIER, MORE FIT VERSION OF YOURSELF.
